Hackers Dump Data of More Than 3,600 Trump Mobile Users, Claim No Response Team Exists

A cyber‑crime group calling itself BYOD said on Wednesday that it has made public personal details of 3,615 Trump Mobile subscribers, the low‑cost phone line introduced by former President Donald Trump.

The gang’s claim states the data were harvested after a piece of malicious code was installed on a device used by a staff member of Liberty Mobile, the carrier that supplies service to the Trump brand. The released files list subscriber names, home addresses, phone numbers and the specifications of the phones they ordered.

Trump Mobile has offered only brief comments. In its short response to BYOD, the firm indicated it lacks a dedicated incident‑response team, implying no formal capability to address the breach. Liberty Mobile has not verified the intrusion, though the alleged attack vector mirrors a typical supply‑chain flaw where attackers compromise employee devices to reach customer records.

The leak exposes thousands of users to potential identity theft, phishing schemes and targeted scams, especially because exact residential addresses are included. For customers who selected Trump Mobile as a budget alternative to premium smartphones, the incident erodes trust in the brand’s security and could prompt a shift toward carriers with stronger privacy protections.

Security experts observe that this breach follows a wider trend of threat actors targeting smaller carriers and niche brands that lack the resources of larger operators. They advise impacted users to watch their credit reports, enable two‑factor authentication where feasible, and consider resetting passwords tied to the compromised accounts. Law‑enforcement has been alerted, and investigators are expected to probe whether additional data from Liberty Mobile’s network was accessed.
