White House Unveils 'Super Intelligence Force' to Guide U.S. AI Policy

The administration disclosed the creation of an interagency entity named the “Super Intelligence Force,” tasked with directing the United States’ strategy on artificial intelligence as the technology speeds up and its security and economic ramifications grow.

President Donald Trump announced that the nation’s intelligence chief will lead the initiative, putting the top intelligence officer in charge of the task force so that policy choices reflect the most recent threat evaluations.

Officials pointed to several worries motivating the effort, including the swift advancement of generative AI capable of creating lifelike synthetic media and the risk that autonomous systems could be turned into weapons. Regulators also voiced concerns over data privacy, algorithmic bias, and the advantage held by foreign competitors that are heavily investing in AI research.

The fresh unit is slated to include senior officials from agencies like Defense, Commerce, Energy and the Federal Trade Commission, establishing a unified forum for exchanging expertise and harmonizing regulatory measures. Centralizing oversight, the administration aims to prevent the disjointed reactions that have marked earlier efforts to tackle emerging technologies.

While the initiative builds on AI strategies introduced by previous administrations, the label “Super Intelligence Force” conveys a more forceful approach. Lawmakers across the aisle have voiced concern about the rapid pace of AI progress, urging the government to stay ahead of possible abuse while retaining the advantages of innovation.

Industry leaders and civil‑rights organizations have reacted with measured optimism. Technology executives praised the chance for clearer guidance, whereas advocacy groups cautioned that a security‑first posture might suppress legitimate research and encroach on civil liberties unless paired with transparency and oversight.

The White House says the task force will produce a comprehensive policy roadmap within three months, detailing suggestions for legislation, funding priorities and international cooperation. The administration noted that the plan could spawn new regulatory proposals intended to protect critical infrastructure and promote responsible AI deployment.

If it proves effective, the Super Intelligence Force could transform the United States’ handling of AI’s challenges and opportunities, placing the nation in a position to shape global standards while tackling domestic security issues.
