Disney+ Offers 30% Off Annual Subscriptions in Australia and New Zealand Before Price Increase

Disney+ Offers 30% Off Annual Subscriptions in Australia and New Zealand Before Price Increase

Starting tomorrow, Disney+ will return to its regular subscription pricing, yet users in Australia and New Zealand can secure a 30% reduction on yearly plans by signing up before the new rates apply.

This offer follows two consecutive price hikes by the service – the first in February 2025 when ESPN content was added, and a second in April 2026 as part of a worldwide price realignment.

Analysts point out that although most streaming competitors have raised fees in the last year, Disney+ stands out for delivering two back‑to‑back increases. The current discount is presented as a “thank you” to regional loyalists and an effort to keep churn‑sensitive customers before the price reset.

In Australia, the annual fee is now AUD $149, reduced from the standard AUD $213 after applying the 30% cut. New Zealand mirrors this structure, with the discounted annual price at NZD $159 compared with the regular NZD $227.

Experts believe the timing coincides with a competitive environment where rivals like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and regional services are also adjusting their rates. The promotion may enable Disney+ to maintain its subscriber base as it keeps rolling out new original and sports content.

Customers who do not take advantage of the short‑term deal will face the full price again on 21 October 2026. Disney+ has not said if comparable offers will return, prompting observers to monitor how the price reset impacts subscriber growth in the ensuing months.
