Adobe redesigns Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Substance 3D for native operation on NVIDIA’s RTX Spark AI chip

Adobe disclosed that it has fully rebuilt its flagship creative apps—Photoshop, Premiere Pro and the Substance 3D suite—to operate natively on NVIDIA’s RTX Spark AI superchip, intending to provide quicker performance for users with suitable hardware.

Adobe calls the overhaul a “re‑architecture,” embedding the RTX Spark platform’s capabilities straight into each application’s core. This integration should enable the software to tackle demanding jobs like image generation, video rendering and 3D material creation more efficiently, cutting down the waiting time for compute‑heavy processes.

The move mirrors a wider industry shift toward pairing creative programs with dedicated accelerators. NVIDIA’s RTX Spark relies on AI‑centric processing cores that speed up tasks usually managed by the CPU or standard GPU pipelines. Creators may therefore experience smoother real‑time previews, faster AI‑powered edits, and more responsive interfaces when handling high‑resolution assets.

This transition also fits Adobe’s continuing plan to weave artificial‑intelligence tools throughout its suite, like Photoshop’s generative fills and Premiere’s auto‑reframe. By tapping RTX Spark’s dedicated AI hardware, these capabilities could operate locally on a workstation instead of depending on cloud services, delivering both speed and privacy advantages.

Although the enhancement is optional and demands a system fitted with the RTX Spark chip, Adobe says future updates will still favor compatibility with the platform. Users on older machines will keep receiving regular releases, yet the most demanding features are slated to be optimized for the new architecture.

Analysts interpret the partnership as an indication that high‑end creative workflows are becoming more reliant on specialized AI hardware. As a growing number of creators embrace such setups, software makers may follow, sparking a surge of applications designed to speed up AI‑enhanced tasks. Adobe’s step could establish a benchmark for the evolution of major creative tools alongside emerging compute technologies.
