She let a homeless man into her house to take a shower and he ended up slitting her throat. This is what has happened to a woman in the town of Salt Lake City, Utah (United States), who has managed to survive after the attack.
The agents went to the victim’s apartment after receiving a call around five in the afternoon on Sunday, February 6, alerting them to the presence of a “profusely bleeding woman,” according to the Salt Lake City Police in a statement .
The victim, whose identity has not been released by police, was taken to a local hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. After the operation, her condition was critical but stable and there have been no updates on her health so far.
The woman herself told the police that she let the suspect, whom she described as homeless, into her house to take a shower. Salt Lake City Police Detective Michelle Mechling explained that it is unclear whether or not the victim knew the man.
The 30-year-old suspect is named Eric Jones and was arrested about three kilometers from the place where the woman’s throat was slashed in the early hours of last Friday. He was booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on charges of aggravated assault. The Police continue with the investigations.
